Open Cell foams feature a wide variety of physical properties making them useful across a broad range of applications. Some of these include: liquid absorption, wicking, particulate filtering, acoustical control, thermal management and cushioning.

Closed Cell foams are non-permeable to liquids or air. They can be molded, laminated and treated to create special characteristics. Applications for closed cell foams include: gaskets, seals, barriers, molded packaging or containers, supports, and cushions.

Medical foams have been developed for specialized uses in the medical field, such as extremely tight performance tolerance, sanitary applications and patient comfort.
